Bula Maleka and G’day.

I began my archery journey in 1997 when I went with my late father to his club shoot in Pacific Harbour. I usually joined him, since I liked fishing along the riverbank beside the shooting range while he practiced.

He asked whether I wanted to give it a try. The moment I released my first arrow, I was hooked—ever since, I’ve competed in national, regional, and international tournaments, as well as participated in three Olympic Games.

Achieving success in archery, much like in any area of life, requires a strong support system. I have been particularly fortunate and blessed to receive unwavering encouragement from my wonderful wife—the mother of our six children—as well as from many family members and friends who have supported us throughout the years.

It is an honour and a privilege to have been elected as the athletes’ representative, ensuring that athletes’ perspectives remain central to decision-making processes.
