World Archery Oceania Secretary, Patsy Vercoe is leading a donation drive of equipment for the 2020 WAO championships. As you may know, Archery equipment can be extremely difficult to find, can be very expensive and is desperately needed to grow our sport. As such WAO (supported by a few clubs and archery stores) is looking for any archers willing to donate some of their old equipment (that is safe and in working condition) that will be distributed to some of our nations.
The below 3 groups have offered to be collection points for any old equipment you may have:
- Manawatu Archery Club – at the Turbine Tournament 14th/15th Dec, in Palmerston North, NZL.
- Christchurch Archery club – Mainland Muster event, 6th-10th Jan 2020. Contact can also be made to Dave Henshaw email dh@xtra.co.nz if you would like to drop off at a different time.
- Archery Warehouse – Auckland, you can organise a time with owner James Kinnear at: sales@archerywarehouse.co.nz
Items we are looking for could be as simple as nocks/vanes you are no longer using. Part sets of arrows, chest guards, strings, arm-guards and even bows would be welcome. Once collection has been made, the equipment will then be shipped to Fiji in time for the WAO Championships and given out at Congress
If you are a club or store that would like to be a collection point, please get in touch with our Secretary General at the following email address: secretary@worldarcheryoceania.org
We hope to see a great response to this initiative and thank all who are involved with the program.
